Virtualizing your Systems for Less with Linux
We've all been reading about the benefits of virtualization and server consolidation.
Many of you probably have some form of virtualization deployed today. Unfortunately, the cost of high performance virtualization is daunting.
This session will discuss Xen virtualization technology, a part of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. You will learn about virtualizing Linux and Windows on top of the Xen hypervisor.

Matt Skipton is a Technology Specialist on the Midwest Linux team for Novell. He focuses on the SUSE Linux product set. Matt has been with Novell® since March of 2005.
Prior to Novell® Matt has held positions as Director of Technology, Senior Technical Consultant, and Senior Systems Engineer. Matt has worked on a variety of operating systems
and networking environments including Linux, Unix, Windows, Mac OS, and CIOS.

He is currently a Partner Solutions Advisor on the MICROSOFT® Across America team where he educates MicrosoftÕs business partners and their customers. Prior to his current role Woody supported and trained MicrosoftÕs retail channel partners; delivered consumer, IT, and product launch events & seminars; worked in the Windows product group; and was a consultant with MICROSOFT® Consulting Services. Before Microsoft, Woody worked as a sales representative for a regional distributor of computer systems. Woody is a veteran of the United States Army and holds a BA in History from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Ever since Stephen Turner created his first computer program in 1979 on a HP41CV Programmable Calculator, he had a close relationship with computers and technology. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in electronic communications from the University of Missouri at Rolla and continued his computer education while working for Datastorm, creators of the pre-Internet communications software package, Procomm Plus.
For the last 10 years, he has assisted Columbia-area businesses with their technology decisions and today, with Herbert Wolverson, created Thoth Data Systems to fill the local need for reliable backup and storage.
